Tropical Fringed Fuchsia Backdrop

Pair wide strands of fringed crepe paper in varying shades of pink with big tropical leaves, and you’ve got something truly unexpected and brilliant. Yellow Bird Events took bright hues and interesting textures to a whole new level here, and we’re feeling super inspired by this wedding design.

Indigo & Wood

We are crushing hard on indigo this week. French blue is all the rage right now, but as we head into the cooler months, we love this deeper hue. From vintage china to smooth velvet and deep blue sequin wedding shoes, the color has got our creative wheels turning. Pair it with a dark wood and dusty brass for an earthy, too-cool-for-school, “we’re-not-even-trying” rustic look.

A Small, Intimate Summer Wedding on Martha’s Vineyard

Brittany admits that she had always planned to elope to avoid the stress of planning, but instead, in just three months, she and fiancé Tony put together a teeny tiny wedding on a teeny tiny island.

The knot was actually tied in the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, witnessed by both sets of parents and Brittany’s brother. The seven of them then celebrated downtown at Atria Restaurant, where a beautiful table was set with beautiful flowers and ocean-inspired décor in their outdoor dining area. A wedding film by Meg Simone tells the whole story of this summer Martha’s Vineyard wedding beautifully.

Zuhair Murad’s Mauriane Gown

For the fashion-forward, boho bride seeking a wedding gown with less frill, there are many sleek and fitted options available in the new collections, but Zuhair Murad’s Mauriane gown is one of the most jaw-dropping garments we’ve seen on the runways this year. This illusion sheath is made of hand-embroidered tulle, which falls gracefully to the floor, and the sheer long sleeves are all romance.

Mini Margaritas

Keep guests hydrated and let cocktails double as favors (or even escort cards!) with these cute mini-margaritas served in tiny Patron bottles. Punch a hole through the cork and add a colored straw for even more punch in this wedding drink.

Olive, Coral & Pear

Think outside the traditional color palette when planning a late fall wedding. Unexpected hues paired with details that speak to the season will make for memorable wedding décor. We can’t help but swoon over this peachy-coral paired with deeper olive tones and a punchy golden yellow. Intersperse some sparkle with those traditional fall hues, and you’ve got a unique wedding color scheme that still speaks to the season.

Surprise Thompson Island Wedding

Pat and Anna were together for 12 years and never planned to get married, but after Pat got sick and landed in the hospital, they realized they didn’t have the same rights as married folks did. So instead of planning a traditional wedding, they got a little creative. They sent out invitations for a family reunion and guests were shuttled to Thompson Island aboard Boston Harbor Cruises.

As the boat docked at Thompson Island, Pat whispered something in his nephew’s ear, and his nephew shouted, “They’re getting married!” Only their wedding party had known. After a bunch of hooting and hollering, the shocked and excited guests witnessed a beautiful ocean-side ceremony. Then the celebration began with a lobster bake under an outdoor pavilion jazzed up with ridiculously cool details, like lace tablecloths, sassy colorful centerpieces, home-brewed hard cider, lots of lawn games, and a totally wild photo booth.

Jenny Packham's Portia

This total dream of a wedding dress comes from Jenny Packham's 2016 Bridal Collection; a magical, Midsummer's Night Dream-inspired, crystal beaded, ostrich feather-embellished, fairy-tale of a collection. We can hardly pick a favorite but The Portia is high on the list. The all-over beading, bias cut, and fluttering sleeves are a match made in wedding gown heaven.
