Romantic, Natural Wedding Hair & Makeup

We are swooning over this romantic hair and makeup by Beauty and the Blush Artistry. The loose hair embellished with Italian ruscus greenery paired against the subtle rose makeup feels ultra-romantic. This look is only enhanced by the other soft pastel hues in this shoot by Lauren Peele Photography and stylist, Lindsey Brunk. We loved the mixed peachy-pinks and the way the makeup works in harmony with the rest of the styling.

Servings: 2

3 tablespoons sugar

3 tablespoons water

20 sprigs of fresh mint

4 tablespoons lime juice

2 ounces white rum

2 ounces fresh grapefruit juice

4 ounces sparkling water

Slices of grapefruit and extra mint sprigs for garnish

Ice as needed

Add sugar and water to a saucepan and bring mixture to a simmer, cooking until the sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool.

Add fresh mint and lime juice to a glass and muddle. The lime helps break down the mint and bring out the flavor.

Pour in rum, grapefruit juice, and half sugar mixture, and stir

Top each glass with a splash of sparking water, slices of grapefruit, and a sprig of mint!

Grapefruit-Cardamom Gin Fizz by The Modern Proper

This week, we are loving the presentation and warm flavors of cardamom-infused gin, the tart pucker of grapefruit, and the earthiness of rosemary mixed with the bubble of prosecco, all meeting in one delicious cocktail glass. This grapefruit-cardamom gin fizz drink may just be the signature cocktail you are looking to serve on the big day.

Grapefruit-Cardamom Gin Fizz

Serves 2

Infused Gin and Rosemary Syrup

1 c. gin

6 cardamom pods

1 c. sugar

1 c. water

2 rosemary sprigs

2 oz. rosemary syrup

3 oz. infused gin

1/2 c. grapefruit juice

splash of prosecco

rosemary sprigs for garnish

grapefruit peel for garnish

1.) In a small jar with an airtight lid, add gin and cardamom pods. Seal and store for 24 hours.

2.) In a small saucepan, bring sugar, water and two rosemary sprigs to a simmer until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, and allow to cool completely. Remove the rosemary and use right away, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

3.) To make the cocktail, add rosemary syrup, infused gin, and grapefruit juice over ice in a cocktail mixer and stir. Using a strainer, divide the mixture in two and pour directly into glasses filled with fresh ice. Top with prosecco, and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a grapefruit peel. Cheers!
