Graylyn International Conference Center
The Roaring ’20s. It was a period of sustained economic prosperity and captains of industry were leaving their grand homes in the city centers of America to build even grander estates in the nearby countryside. In 1925, Vice President and Director of R.J. Reynolds, Inc., Bowman Gray, and his wife, Nathalie Lyons Gray, purchased 87 acres of pasture and cornfields and set out to build their dream home. Son of the founder of Wachovia Bank and Trust Co., Gray began his career with R.J. Reynolds as a salesman and, by the time the house was built, had risen to become Chairman of the Board. Today, Graylyn features the old-world charm of a private estate coupled with modern amenities, making it the ideal location for your wedding or special event. Just minutes away from downtown Winston-Salem, yet seemingly miles away, Graylyn features five distinct and exclusive buildings, 55 acres of manicured and natural grounds, and more than 15,000 square feet of flexible function space that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each event. Whether you’re hosting an intimate alfresco exchange of vows for your closest friends and family or a gala celebration for 300, you’re sure to find what you are looking for at Graylyn.
